Do you offer more than one type of hand piece?

Genesis Biosystems offers three types of hand pieces: our main Ergonomic, Dual-Mode Hand Piece utilizes disposable tip caps for asceptic face and body size peels. This soft grip hand piece allows crystal and crystal-free abrasion in models with the Plug-n-Peel™ Closed Canister Microdermabrasion System. With this hand piece, the operator can customize peels based on the skin care requirements of the patient. The disposable tip caps are sold in 90 degree and body size crystal-free tip caps (80, 100, or 120 Grit size) and 45 degree angle tip caps for use with aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate crystal.

The next two hand pieces are sold for use with all other Derma Genesis machines that do not have Plug-n-Peel™ installed. The second hand piece is made of Pyrex "glass". The third hand piece is made of metal and utilizes disposable 45 degree angle plastic tip caps. Both hand pieces are autoclavable. The Pyrex "glass" hand piece is "see-thru" and contains a ceramic insert to aid in even crystal flow. The Pyrex "glass" hand piece is extremely lightweight and the shape of its orifice is considered optimal for hard to reach areas of the face. As of March 15, each Derma Genesis® machine with Plug-n-Peel is shipped with the new Ergonomic, Dual Mode Hand Piece. All other refurbished models that do not contain Plug-n-Peel™ are shipped with the Pyrex "glass" hand piece. The optional metal hand piece lasts indefinitely and uses disposable, single-use plastic tip caps.

What is the difference between Aluminum Oxide Crystal and Sodium Bicarbonate Crystal?

Aluminum Oxide Crystals have multiple facets on the surface of each crystal, which gives a more aggressive peel as compared to Sodium Bicarbonate. Sodium Bicarbonate Crystal, an alternative to Aluminum Oxide Crystal, is water-soluble and is designed as a non-abrasive polishing agent.
